Should I Turn Myself in on a Warrant in Sarasota/Manatee?

Let's face it, no one wants to go to jail. If you know you have a pending warrant for your arrest, however, biting the bullet and turning yourself in can be advantageous. One benefit is that you can make arrangements before going to jail so that you can be ahead in fighting your charges or get an earlier release. Such tasks as hiring an attorney, getting bond money together, and arranging child care can be taken care of easier before being arrested rather than trying to do so from the jail.

Another benefit is that it gives you a good argument that you have remorse, are willing to accept punishment, or that you are otherwise willing to cooperate and resolve your charges. At first appearance, your attorney can argue that you turned yourself in and that you will show up for court when required to and it will help to convince the judge to release you or give you a lower bond.

When dealing with the prosecutor and trying to get a good plea bargain, the fact you turned yourself in can be used to argue for a lower sentence.

At Soler & Simon, we can help you make the transition to jail and subsequent resolution to your case as quick and painless as possible. We can help you arrange bond and make phone calls on your behalf. We will fight and argue on your behalf and make sure that you get the best deal possible.
